The global surgical period is a complex array of rules, regulations, bundles, and do-not-report policies for medical practice staff. Put your questions to rest with a comprehensive training session that will cover E/M coding, modifiers, code bundles, same-day decision-making, pre-surgical visits, and much more. Don’t lose out on billable services because of a few complicated rules.

Join expert speaker Betsy Nicoletti, CPC, as she teaches participants how to avoid revenue loss by correctly coding office visits and procedures during the global surgical package. Is Your Practice Ready for ICD-10-CM Code Changes for October 1, 2017?

September 13, 2017

Learn about additions, deletions and revisions to the ICD-10- CM diagnosis code set before your software updates in October.

There are new codes including for substance abuse in remission, pulmonary hypertension and heart failure. Some eye conditions have added specificity. Look for additions for intestinal obstructions and breast lumps. There are additional codes for maternal care of a woman whose fetus has heart rate or rythem problems.

There are many changes that are grammatical but don’t change the meaning of the code, such as “arteries” to “artery” and “medial” to “middle.” Practices that perform or order antenatal screening services will find additional options for reporting. And, what ICD-10 update would be complete without more external cause codes?

Coders want to know about changes to conditions that they use in reporting claims. This webinar will provide an overview of changes and a process in which coders can analyze in detail what changes will affect their work.

  • After the presentation, participants will be able to:
Identify three conditions with changes in ICD-10 coding for October 1,
    2017
  • Describe where to find a listing of the additions, deletions and revisions
  • Select conditions used in their own practice that will require education and review

“My organization approached Betsy Nicoletti because we had providers failing coding audits.

Betsy’s name is out there in the coding world as a leader in the field and wanted the best for our providers.

Betsy works with the organization to set up webinars for our new provider on boarding training process (which according to them has been most beneficial), as well as subsequent auditing to ensure provider engagement and understanding.

Betsy’s one on one approach has helped the organization overall by the specialized attention to our specific needs.

I appreciate Betsy’s tactful approach with the providers to lessen their concerns as it relates to proper coding. She is up to date on all of the current changes in coding and maintains the communication whenever warranted.

Overall I have found the experience of working with Betsy as positive and educational. I would not hesitate to recommend Betsy to any organization that needs to improve their coding practices and improve success rates from outside auditing.”
